Behind-the-Scenes Productions is the brainchild of Deborah McManman. It was born out of necessity and her love of a variety of divergent factors: Writing, reading, creativity, animals, flowers, history, Native American tradition, spirituality, Samhain or Halloween festivities, music, antiques, nature, people, health, stewardship, and video production.

These factors all converged in 2003 when Deborah was diagnosed with celiac disease, an autoimmune condition that damages the small intestine and interferes with absorption of nutrients from food. Because Deborah had come from a family who immersed themselves in creativity, music, and the telecommunications fields, she fell into the entreperneurial role of creating her own business, Behind-the-Scenes Productions: A multi-media grassroots organization dedicated to furthering education through using new electronic media and the written word.
